Ice Cube and Charlie Day Lead All-Star Cast in Comedy 'Fist Fight'

Ice Cube and Charlie Day are teachers ready for an after-school rumble in 'Fist Fight.'

Ice Cube and Charlie Day (Horrible Bosses) will lead an impressive cast in the big screen comedy Fist Fight. The plot revolves around two high school teachers who decide to resolve their differences with good old fashioned pugilism. Day stars as a mild-mannered English teacher challenged to a fight after school by his much tougher colleague (Cube), who is under the impression that Day's character is trying to get him fired.

Deadline wrote: "The pic is in the tone of the '80s cult hit Three O'Clock High but a grown-up version."

In his first film role since his devastating accident on the New Jersey Turnpike last year, actor/comedian Tracy Morgan will star as the school's coach. Because of his injuries, it was unclear how soon the 30 Rock and SNL alum could go back to work. He is scheduled to host Saturday Night Live on Oct. 17.

Christina Hendricks (Mad Men) will play an intense drama instructor who is romantically interested in Ice Cube's character. The cast also features Jillian Bell (22 Jump Street), JoAnna Garcia Swisher (The Astronaut Wives Club) and Dean Norris, whose most recent work includes the TV series Under the Dome.

The picture reunites Day with director Richie Keen, who worked with him for three years on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The screenplay was written by Van Robichaux and Evan Susser, who previously collaborated on the TV series What's Going On? with Mike Mitchell. This project will be the duo's feature film screenwriting debut.

The movie is expected to begin filming in Atlanta next month and to hit theaters in 2016.
